It's just this simple: I've been there. Before I opened my law practice, I spent four years doing VP-level business development work at a hardware/semiconductor venture-funded startup, including 2 years as a restart after the 2001 telecom industry collapse. Before that, as a lawyer at a top Silicon Valley firm, I advised technology companies on how to successfully buy, sell and license both rights and goods, as well as how to aquire or merge with other companies.
I know how hard it is to keep a company running, how much effort you put into developing your idea and technology, how long it took to develop the relationships you need to make your company a success, and how careful you have to be with your technology, those relationships and your money.
I believe it's the job of your lawyer to help you succeed, not just in a single task, but in your whole business.
